GOP Immigration Debate Shifting with Double-Digit Trouncing of AZ Law Author
National Platform Embraces Temporary Worker Program
Houston, TX—Last night, the Republican Party achieved two major victories that will have a lasting impact on the immigration debate. It passed a temporary guest worker plan in its national platform, and Russell Pearce—the author of the controversial Arizona immigration bill—suffered a double-digit election loss in his comeback bid.
Brad Bailey, co-founder of The Texas Immigration Solution and co-author of the Texas Republican Party’s immigration platform, today applauded the decision, calling it a critical step for the party and a way forward on the hot-button issue of immigration reform.
“The move reflects the influence of a rising generation of conservative leaders who see the pitfalls of the past debates and have crafted a plan to fix our broken system,” said Mr. Bailey. “The party is charging ahead with bold new ideas.
"Russell Pearce’s resounding defeat means that the hot rhetoric of the past has proven to be a political loser, and conservatives are embracing a market-based approach to immigration, said Mr. Bailey. “Our national party platform now embraces the ideas of conservative leaders like Senator Marco Rubio and Congressman Paul Ryan, who have openly endorsed a guest worker program for years.
“The Texas GOP showed exactly what Republican means this June at our state convention. Texans live every day impacted by a failed federal immigration bureaucracy. Texas delegates voted to end the shadow of illegal immigration and restore law and order.
“The Texas Immigration Solution reallocates our law enforcement resources to secure our borders and defeat the drug cartels and human traffickers. The proposal clarifies birthright citizenship, and most importantly proposes a temporary worker program,” said Mr. Bailey.
Mr. Bailey is the Founder and CEO of The Texas Immigration Solution, a 501(c)(4) organization comprised of like-minded business and community leaders dedicated to promoting conservative, market-based immigration reform.

RNC Platform Committee Endorses Temporary Guest Worker Plan
In Unprecedented Move, National Party Lays Groundwork for Immigration Solution
Houston, TX—In an unprecedented move, the Republican Party’s national platform committee has backed a market-based temporary worker program for all U.S. industries. The move comes on the heels of the Texas Republican Party passing a similar plan in its state party platform, dubbed “The Texas Solution.”
Brad Bailey, co-founder of The Texas Immigration Solution and co-author of the Texas Republican Party’s immigration platform, today applauded the decision, calling it a critical step for the party and a way forward on the hot-button issue of immigration reform.
"The immigration debate inside the GOP has changed,” said Mr. Bailey. “It is exciting that the Republican Party has embraced conservative solutions to address our nation's broken immigration system. Our national party platform now embraces the ideas of conservative leaders like Senator Marco Rubio and Congressman Paul Ryan, who have openly endorsed a guest worker program for years.
"It is time that we apply our free-market approaches to the immigration problem by putting a priority on securing the border and listening to the needs of American business owners and American farmers.
